Matt and Charlotte’s Northcote Addition & Renovation
Steadfast have been contracted to manage the construction of a 130m2 multi-level addition and renovation to Matt & Charlotte’s existing dwelling and the demolition and reconstruction of the garage.
A complex project by nature, the most challenging aspect thus far has been constructing the addition in such a way that it seamlessly transitions from the existing to the new. Retaining and reconstructing key features and finishes found on stunning character homes like this is critical to the end result.
As a result, considered planning and staging becomes critical to the success of the project. Everything must be planned to ensure the end result is in keeping with the character of the existing building whilst upgrading the building to current building code standards and futureproofing and preserving the life of this beautiful character home.
Completed in November 2017, the end result is a practical, modern family home that not only retains its character, but also increases its value through quality craftsmanship and finishing.
